Willingboro Township will transition municipal solid waste and relations services (trash collection) to Interstate Waste Services (IWS) on Monday, June 1st.
In an effort to ensure a smooth transition from our previous vendor to the new vendor, this page has been created as a resource for general information, scheduling, trash and bulk scheduling and frequently asked questions. Residents are invited to call the Department Public Works at 609-877-2200, ext. 1051 or 1107 if you have regarding trash collection or related services.
OVERVIEW
Willingboro Township will continue its commitment to ensure every resident receives timely trash, recycling and bulk collection services. We are pleased to collaborate with Interstate Waste Services to ensure we have more timely collections and pickups and a more efficient schedule. We are also committed to offering improved communications and quicker response times.
SCHEDULING
Collections will run during the day, generally between the hours of 5 am - and 5 pm. We are pleased to share that most of the collection schedules will remain unchanged, however ALL Tuesday collections will move to WEDNESDAYS! (There will no longer be any collections on Tuesday). Additionally, Garfield East will move to Fridays. All other collections will REMAIN THE SAME. Please note that residents will continue to use the carts currently in your possession.
TRASH
Please place Trash containers at curbside (near the driveway) by 5:00 AM of collection day, but no earlier than sunset of the evening prior to collection day. TRASH SHOULD NEVER BE PLACED OUT ON WEEKENDS OR BETWEEN COLLECTION DAYS. Normal household trash must be placed in provided township containers with lids closed and attached. Never place trash in your recycling cart. Note: The recycling collection schedule will remain the same.
Per Ordinance No. 2026-14- Second carts will be available for those who are interested on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to those who are currently on the waiting list. Letters have beensent out to all those on the waiting list Carts will be available at a cost of $75 per cart. Residents who acquire a second cart will incur a $145 yearly collection fee for the additional service.
Applications and rental agreements will be available beginning June 1st and can be obtained by visiting the Finance Office. Forms will also be posted on-line. All payments and requests will be handled by the Finance Department. Second carts will be delivered to residents in early August.
Please ensure trash bins are placed properly curbside, ensuring that the arrows and the lid opening are FACING the street.

There will be NO COLLECTION ON THESE HOLIDAYS – New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas.
NOTE: If your collection falls on any of the holidays listed above there will be a delay in your service, typically resulting in your service being delayed by a day.
***BULK PICK UP
Bulk Pick-Up occurs on the same day as your trash collection day!! Appointments are no longer necessary for bulk pick up - simply place your bulk items (no more than five items) out with your trash and your bulk items will be picked up accordingly. Please note that TVs, electronics, items containing lithium batteries and small engines are not acceptable items for bulk pick up.
